The capital of Spiti
Kaza is the largest town and subdivisional headquarters of the remote Spiti Valley, in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. Sitting on the banks of the Spiti river at about 3,650 m, it is the commercial hub and base for Spiti — a high-altitude cold desert of monasteries, moonscape mountains and villages such as Key, Kibber, Langza and Hikkim.
